Two hours after her husband left for a business trip, the wife sees him in the restaurant with a lady – Story of the day

Pedro, 45, and Jessica, 43, tied the knot a year ago after dating for a long time.

For most of her life, the woman had been so focused on her career that she had put any thoughts of marriage or starting a family on the back burner.

Meanwhile, Pedro had gone through multiple relationships before finally realizing that Jessica was the woman he wanted to spend the rest of his life with.

Jessica said goodbye to Pedro before he left for his short business trip. She then called her friends and arranged dinner at one of her favorite restaurants because she didn’t want to spend the night alone.

Two hours after her husband left, she was eating her appetizer at the restaurant while waiting for the food she had already ordered with her friends.

At that moment he noticed that a man who looked too much like Pedro was entering the restaurant with an older woman.

“Jessica, look!” said one of her friends. “That’s Pedro, isn’t it?”

“For what? To tell me more lies?” she replied.

“No. I have something to tell you and I want you to meet someone. Please, meet me at the restaurant tomorrow at noon. Please, just give me this chance. I hope to see you there,” he said before giving his wife some space and hanging up the phone.

That night, Jessica couldn’t sleep. She tossed and turned, debating whether or not she should show up at the restaurant the next day. Although she wanted answers, she wasn’t sure she was willing to listen to what Pedro had to say.

When she woke up the next morning, she decided she wanted to meet her husband. So she got ready and headed to the mall.

As soon as she entered the restaurant, her heart skipped a beat. She saw the older woman standing next to Pedro again. Jessica shook her head and was about to leave, but the man hurriedly stopped her.

“The truth is, Jessica, that woman is my ex-mother-in-law,” the man admitted.

Hearing the word “mother-in-law,” Jessica’s stomach turned. She couldn’t help but feel provoked by the word. “What? Why are you still in contact with that woman’s family? Are you happy that you were deceived?”

“You want to go back to that kind of life? Then you shouldn’t have married me!” Jessica suddenly burst out, provoked by the thought that Pedro was still in contact with his ex-wife’s family.

“No, Jessica. Of course not. You are my only love, you know that!” the man shouted, fearing that his wife was about to leave him. “My ex-mother-in-law suffers from Parkinson’s. When Amanda left me, she also abandoned her mother and left her living with me,” he explained.

“She lived with you?!” Jessica asked, surprised. As far as she could remember, there was no one else in Pedro’s apartment when they started dating years ago. “Where did you make her stay when we first started dating?”

“I didn’t want you to think badly of me, so I paid for a private nurse for her. She lives in an apartment I own. And I try to take her out to lunch from time to time. I’m sorry, Jessica. I should never have kept this from you,” he apologized.

“It hurts me that you lied to me, Pedro, but what hurts me even more is that you thought I wouldn’t have accepted your mother-in-law. That poor woman only has you and she ended up alone,” Jessica said crying.

“I thought you would leave me because of that,” the man admitted. “I’m sorry. I promise to never hide things from you or lie to you again. Please forgive me and give me a chance to prove to you that it won’t happen again.”

Jessica had always been afraid of giving second chances because she believed it was a reason for someone to keep making the same mistakes. However, because she loved her husband, she decided to forgive him.

“Don’t lie to me anymore,” she said firmly. “And please, let’s take good care of this sweet old lady. She can stay here with us, and the nurse can come and take care of her. I don’t think she deserves to live the rest of her life alone in that apartment,” Jessica added.

Peter looked at his wife in disbelief. “How can I be so lucky?” he thought to himself as he looked at his wife, who seemed calm, cool and collected as she spoke to him.

“I love you,” he told her. “You are the kindest, most selfless person I know. I am so lucky to be married to you.”

Jessica let out a weak laugh. “Don’t flatter me now. Come on, she’s waiting for us,” she said, walking with her husband to the table where the old woman was sitting.
