The house.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"143\">\u201cThe house?\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"144\">\u201cWe can\u2019t afford to drag this out,\u201d he said. \u201cWe need to be practical.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"145\">\u201cYou were gone for four months.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"146\">\u201cAnd custody?\u201d I asked.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"147\">\u201cI still have rights,\u201d he said. \u201cIf you make this ugly, yes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"148\">A man behind him said, \u201cMarcus?\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"149\">Marcus turned. The man wore a gray suit and carried a thick envelope.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"150\">The process server had arrived right on time. That part was not luck. After my lawyer confirmed Marcus\u2019s return flight, she arranged service at the airport. Public place. Verified arrival. There was debt. I listened when you said we\u2019d talk later.
