A mother becomes concerned when her 14-year-old daughter Lizzie says her new science teacher is singling her out with public comments about her appearance and unfair treatment in class. After the bullying stops briefly, Lizzie’s grades begin dropping under questionable circumstances. During a major school presentation, the mother attends and realizes the teacher is actually her former high school bully, Ms. Lawrence. When the teacher publicly humiliates Lizzie and gives her an unfair grade, the mother confronts her in front of parents and students, presenting evidence that Lizzie’s work was graded unfairly. Other students confirm the bias, prompting the principal to suspend Ms. Lawrence and launch an investigation. In the end, the mother finally stands up to the person who once tormented her, teaching her daughter that speaking up against injustice can be empowering and healing.
